Here’s what matters today in wrestling 👇

When Worlds Collide was announced a few weeks ago, most of us operated under the assumption that it would be available live on YouTube like other AAA major events have been since TKO’s purchase. I was asked to review it and agreed figuring that I typically cover other AAA Saturday night shows anyway. Then we started hearing that it might not be, and on Saturday AAA announced an episode of their TV show for this week featuring some matches taped last month that don’t really affect their storylines. They also spent a good amount of time plugging Worlds Collide, having Rey Mysterio announce the full card and Roxanne Perez interrupt La Catalina’s interview time to build their match for the event.

Now I’m seeing reports that Worlds Collide will air live on YouTube. Perhaps the previously taped matches will air on Mexico’s Fox. Maybe everything will air on YouTube and I’ve accidentally agreed to cover five hours of wrestling on Saturday night. I really hope it isn’t that, those crazy show lengths are why I don’t cover AEW. It’s just kind of weird that WWE is being so vague about this show and when or if it’s airing. It’s like they didn’t even really have a plan other than to run a show in Chicago against an AEW event featuring CM Punk.

Pro wrestling has a long history of questionable t-shirt designs that you wonder how they got approved. We don’t have to wonder how anymore since AI is taking care of all that, and clearly no actual people were involved in the development of Trick’s shirt. I’m guessing most of you have seen the shirt by now, if not I’d describe it as depicting a boot filled with a white substance surrounded by chicken wings.

As a white guy from Kentucky I’ve never felt comfortable telling people what’s racist and what isn’t, so I’m not going to delve into that aspect. You can make up your own mind on that. I will say that the boot with white juice oozing out of it takes me back to the days when AJ Styles & Edge both had t-shirts with white substances looking like they were smeared all over. It wasn’t a great idea then and it’s not a great idea now. After looking at WWE’s t-shirt site for awhile last night, the best thing I can say about their current selection is that you have a lot of choices. I can’t say there’s a lot of good choices, but there’s certainly a lot of choices.

Reading about Missy’s recent financial endeavor made me wonder about some issues I’ve never given much thought to. Google tells me that breast implant surgery ranges between $6,000 & $12,000. When I was younger I always assumed it was more expensive than that, as it seemed like wrestlers couldn’t afford implants unless they appeared on television. I also thought wrestlers made a lot more money than they actually did. Google also tells me a pair of breast implants cost $800-$1200 for the saline version & $1200-$2400 for silicone. I assume there’s been some inflation in prices over the years, and Missy made a bigger profit from this transaction than it might seem.

Then there’s the question of when Hyatt got this particular implant. Has she had the same pair going back to the 1980s & 90s or has she had to rotate them out? I don’t know how long these things last, again, not my area of expertise. There are some people I could ask, but I don’t think I’m close enough with them to ask such a thing. Not to sound crass (probably too late), but I would think that a diehard wrestling fan interested in this type of merchandise would be more interested in an implant from the World Class & WCW era of Missy’s career than afterward. In all seriousness, Missy seems like good people and it was nice to see her Dark Side of the Ring episode have an ending that wasn’t tragic.
