Here’s what matters today in wrestling 👇

Wrestling fans are creatures of routine. I know I am. It’s nice to know when certain events are going to happen every single year. The Royal Rumble always happens near the end of January. WrestleMania is almost always in late March or early April. The Survivor Series is always sometime in November, and SummerSlam takes place during August or September. I’m old enough to remember when WWF & WCW had multiple years where their monthly PPVs always happened around the same date. WCW even had them in the same arenas most of the time.
So of course we’re going to get bent out of shape over things like Money in the Bank in October. Although, the more I think about it, the more I kinda like the idea. WWE programming tends to slow down during football season anyway. Even if I’m not a huge fan of the MITB briefcase gimmick after all these years, it’s still a bit interesting to see who gets it and people like the crazy ladder matches. Also, if they keep moving it back it gives them more time to come up with good ideas for it. This was also my strategy for term papers back in the day. We’ll probably end up seeing MITB in October, unless they move it to December. Can’t rule anything out at this point.

•Eric Bischoff Suggests Chad Gable May Appear in Real American Freestyle in Future

Chad Gable has become one of the hottest names in pro wrestling in recent weeks due to the success of the El Grande Americano angle in AAA. The build to the Mask vs. Mask match was surpassed by the match itself, and Gable’s appearances since then on Raw & SmackDown have been met with universal approval from the European fans. Gable has long been considered one of the top in-ring performers in WWE, now may be the time for him to finally take center stage as a talent that can appear in main events.
Hopefully Chad will be too busy with WWE business to give much time to Eric Bischoff’s latest cash grab. No offense to those of you out there that like amateur wrestling, but there must be better usages of Chad Gable’s second wind than lending his name to an outlaw fighting company ran by a grifter whose last good idea happened during the Clinton Administration.

There hasn’t been a luckier sports franchise in the past decade than the Vegas Golden Knights. The NHL gift-wrapped them a good team for their expansion year because they wanted the market to take off, then went right back to screwing over their new teams & giving them nothing a year later. Fortuitous injuries allowed them to manipulate the salary cap at convenient times. They already won one Stanley Cup and are on the verge of another after winning two closely-contested games in Carolina. For fans of hockey teams that aren’t given everything by the NHL, it’s enough to make you want to vomit.
Quite frankly, this could be the moment of truth for Danhausen’s sports-related curses. If he can somehow keep the Knights from winning another ill-gotten Cup, the sky will be the limit for what he can accomplish. Fans will line up to hand over human monies for Danhausen to curse their rival teams. ESPN could become nothing but Stephen A. Smith diatribes, Pat McAfee dudebro bloviation & Danhausen curses. Oh wait, it already is.
