The UFC Freedom 250 political rally/fight card was quite the spectacle that led to all sorts of news to talk about. For me, the most interesting development wasn’t anything that took place at the White House, but the online reaction from one of UFC’s biggest all-time drawing cards. Conor McGregor took to social media to express his displeasure over WWE Superstars being featured on the event over UFC fighters. I didn’t see the event so I can’t comment on whether the airtime WWE talents got took much time away from the WFC fighters, but I think we all expected this issue to come up when WWE & UFC became part of the same company.

There are two ways this story could go. Either it’s part of a work leading to inter-mingling between WWE & UFC talent on their shows that everybody will be hunky-dory with, or it’s a natural reaction that wrestlers & fighters have when other talent from other promotions start appearing on their shows. One of the many problems the WCW Invasion angle faced was the hostility WWF talent had towards WCW wrestlers suddenly appearing on shows and taking up spots that could have gone to wrestlers that had already been there before WCW closed. For a more recent example I can cite any inter-promotional angle that’s taken place since. TKO will surely be looking to feature WWE talent on UFC shows and UFC talent on WWE shows whenever possible. The question will be whether WWE & UFC fans want to see it or not.

CM Punk appeared on WWE Raw the night after WrestleMania and told us he wasn’t going anywhere. We haven’t seen him on WWE television since then. This has led to a ton of speculation from fans about Punk’s future, but I’ve yet to see anything suggesting that Punk isn’t just taking some time off to rest up and get ready for another run on top. You have to give the guy credit for finding a way to stay in the news without saying or doing anything.

I’m not sure how fans manage to jump to radical conclusions like Punk returning to AEW just because he’s been off WWE television for a couple of months. Is it wishful thinking? Fantasy booking? You never say never in the wrestling business, but I’d be awfully surprised to see CM Punk in AEW while the people he had problems with are still there.

The latest update on Drew is that he’s not expected to be back anytime soon. The Scottish Warrior has become quite interested in acting and has found success in Hollywood. I’ve never been one of those fans that gets mad at wrestlers for moving on to acting, so I wish Drew luck in his Hollywood endeavors. I will say that I’m always skeptical about these reports because some wrestlers seem to constantly have some kind of acting projects and yet we still see them on TV every week. Of course, acting projects are all different and some are more detailed than others.
